Media installation "Regatta" at Dresden Transport Museum
For its new permanent exhibition Schifffahrt - Leinen los! the Dresden Transport Museum asked us again developing a new interactive installation.
The aim of the regatta station is to impart the subjects shipbuilding, physics and fluid dynamics in a playful way. The visitor is placed in the position of a constructor and can design his own ships with given ship parts and launch them on three different routes. It is important to observe the route properties and to choose the appropriate ship parts in order to achieve the highest possible speed and agility.
The project was implemented using Node.js for the construction on stationary tablet devices and with Unity3D for the Simulation and Visualisation of the Regatta on 3,60m 55-inch display wall.
